Artist Bio
Marcin Poludniak- Lively, Light-hearted and Likable!
Polish illustrator Marcin Poludniak produces light-hearted and lively images featuring super-animated and hyper-colorful characters that bring cheer to everyone.
Marcin’s adventure with illustration began when he was a child and often imitated his favorite illustrators of that time, which was mainly in the realm of comics. Although he knew that he had a gift for creating and emulating famous characters, he never thought that he would become a professional illustrator.
After finishing high school throughout which he concentrated on a fine arts curriculum, he then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland where he studied architecture and graduated with this prestigious degree. Although his mind told him to become an interior designer, his heart told him to explore his passion of becoming an illustrator instead.
Marcin’s masterful ability to design any subject matter with humor and technical precision was a perfect fit in the advertising agency world in which he was employed for seven years. In this environment, he created images of people, products and places that activated and enticed a cross-section of markets, including designs for games, interactive applications, websites and logos.
Armed with industry knowledge, real-world experience and a prolific portfolio, Marcin decided to broaden his creative horizons and branch on his own. In 2007, he decided to launch a career as a professional freelance artist specializing in lively children’s illustrations using paper, pencil and computer-generated graphics. Marcin’s designs, however, are not only for the young in age, but also, the young at heart as his zany custom characters and vibrant color palettes grab the attention of consumers worldwide.
He has been inspired by many great artists, including Picasso, Salvador Dali, Zdzisław Beksiński, Edward Lutczyn, Siudmak and Vincent Van Gogh, the one artist Marcin would love to meet in person.
His greatest career accomplishment to date occurred 20 years ago when the first book featuring his artwork was published. Since, then Marcin has collaborated with famous publishing houses around the globe, including Wilga, Zielona Sowa and Siedmiorog
When not working, Marcin’s favorite fun activities include listening to a wide spectrum of music, immersing himself in a good book, most notably those authored by Terry Pratchett, and traveling around Europe, taking photos and enjoying a good piece of chocolate!
